Isle of Skye 12 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky made using a selection of Island and Speyside whiskies. It is extra matured in oak casks for 12 years and contains an exceptionally high proportion of distinctive island and mellow Speyside malts which, after blending, are returned to cask to ‘marry’ prior to bottling 2. The producer did proof it down to 40 percent ABV, so even though the aromas are rich and nicely concentrated, the palate is slightly lacking in depth
